The Pro Actors represent established television, film and theatre practitioners and emerging talent.

Tim Gordon, The Pro Actors’ main director, offers a unique perspective as an agent, having been a professional actor for the last twenty years.

In 1999 Tim envisioned a personal approach to represent talent that seemed to be lost in some of the many large agencies that then existed. From the smallest of beginnings, with a handful of loyal pathfinders, The Pro Actors was established.

Understanding an actor’s professional and creative diversity, successes and struggles, helped in Tim’s modelling The Pro Actors. Over those 11 years it has developed into one the respected New Zealand agencies representing not only Wellington’s finest but indeed some of New Zealand’s most sought after actors.

I love being self employed. I love its freedom and possibilities.

Since 1990, I’ve been involved in most forms of the media: as a performer, actor, producer, director, writer, publicist, administrator, communications coach and marketer and as an actors’ agent. And it is in being an Agent that so much of my experience comes together.

I utterly respect actors as self employed professionals. I am passionate in supporting them in their careers. Some need mentoring, some the odd bit of encouragement, others advice. I know that as small business people they can’t do everything.

The ProActors can be their Marketing Division, their Financial Department, their Human Resources, the Legal Department. We stand as an advocate between the Actor’s creative talent and the rest of the industry.
